Monthly Meeting Minutes
March 23^rd, 2026

1. Call to Order
   Secretary Ken Behrens noted that a quorum of 6 members was present, 4 of which were elected officers. President Paul Harrison called to order the meeting of the Radops of El Jebel at 1900 hours February 23rd, 2026, with all officers present. Sam Wittner, Dennis Proctor, & Mike Schwartz were excused. Jim Schneider gave the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. Illness and Distress
   1. None reported.
3. Approval of Minutes from last meeting
   1. Michael Marcus moved and Chuck Noah seconded that the February 23rd, 2026 meeting minutes be approved as published. Motion carried unanimously.
4. Treasurer’s Report
   1. The Treasurer’s report is on file with the secretary.
   2. President Paul Harrison accepted the report as read.
   3. Rich Wall informed us that this year will be his last serving as Treasurer because driving at night has become a problem for him.

   1. None.
9. Good of the Order
   1. President Paul Harrison asked us to tell how we got into ham radio
      1. Paul got involved through his son’s civil air patrol activities.
      2. Michael was intrigued by ham work in disasters causing him to pursue a license.
      3. Rich got involved via Air Force radio testing and a neighbor urged him to licensed.
      4. Chuck was exposed to radio communications in the early 60’s with fire department CB use. Lafayette Electronics people talked him into getting licensed.
      5. Jim worked on electronic gear and a friend suggested that he get a ham license. He took the test when the code requirement was removed.
      6. Ken was motivated to join the Radops when his Shrine marching days were over and when code requirements were removed as well. He started trying to master code at age 14, but never was able to pick up the ability so a license was out of the question.
10. Divan Representative
    1. Ken Behrens gave the Divan Report for Divan Rep Sam who was excused.
    2. He summarized the items that were stated in the Sunday night net.

Adjournment
Paul Harrison adjourned the meeting at 1930 hours.
